In the previous post, we looked at the response of the crow that Noah sent out of the ark. In this post, we will explore the response of the dove after being sent from the ark and how empowered wives may use this approach to address marital issues.

How To Deal With Marital Challenges Like a Dove?

As women of God, sometimes we have to be like the dove from Noah’s ark. We have to be patient and persistent when we face challenges and deal with our spouses and children.

But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. (Genesis 8:9 NIV)

We can’t give up the first time we try potty training. We can’t decide that we will not try discussing a matter with our spouse because he didn’t understand or comply the first time around. We can’t give up on that recipe because it didn’t come out right.

Don’t give up on intimacy, spiritual growth, financial difficulties, and other marital issues! Don’t take off like the raven who didn’t return to the ark! Remain hopeful, be patient, and pray faithfully.

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. ¹²Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12 :11-12 NIV)

It’s with persistence and practice that we learn and master things. This persistence and practice takes both time and patience. Let us, like Daniel, “purpose in our hearts” and keep trying until we get the desired results that we are looking for.

The dove kept returning to the ark until the conditions were favorable for it not to return. Will you address marital challenges with persistence like a dove? Will you patiently return to your spouse until issues have favorable results?

As empowered godly wives, we have to be patient and persistent while we address marital challenges and wait for transformation to take place.
