Say this simple prayer for your spouse

After exchanging morning greetings with my sister and reading a rather powerful devotional that she sent me, I got another message from her. Strange enough the message was a confession. She said that my phone alarm went off one evening and she realized that the notification said, “prayer for husband“.

She wasn’t sneaking around or trying to invade my privacy, but she really liked the idea and decided to adopt it.

A few days later, she wrote a prayer and shared it with me and one of her besties. Her bestie decided to adopt it as a daily prayer, and I decided to share it with you. Yes you! I believe that this prayer can inspire, empower, and transform your marriage.

So here it is. A powerful prayer you can say any time of day that is packed with declarations for your husband.

Father God,

In the mighty name of Jesus, I come to You not because I am worthy or better than anyone else. Lord sometimes I struggle with listening and obeying Your voice because flesh is weak but Father, I come bowing in Your presence this moment to present my husband to You.

Lord, You have placed this man as the leader in our lives and our home and he can only lead if he keeps his eyes on You. Lord our footsteps follow our eyes so Lord help my husband’s eyes to focus on You. It’s not by my might Lord but by Your Spirit. Your Holy Spirit can touch and reach places I have no access to so Lord, send Your Holy Spirit to cover my husband and fill him from the crown of his head to the sole of his feet.

Lord, help him to be obedient to Your calling. Lord, transform him. Father he is Your child before he is anything else and Lord because I love him, I will give him to You who first loved him. Lord, I am confident that You will begin a work in him and You will transform him because You will take Your son back from the hands of this world.

Lord, help me to be still when You begin a work in him, help me not to be a distraction but a support. Lord, remove self and work through me to help Your child to reconnect with You in mind, body, and soul. Lord, I know I have Your full support and I know he has Your full support so Lord, help him to focus on You and walk in Your way and Your will.

Lord, thank You for doing a good work and thank You for Your love and grace. Thank You in advance for transforming my husband and thank You for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ holy and precious name.
