Today’s chapter: Psalm 49

Today’s verse: Psalm 49:3

My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

What is it that you are speaking over your marriage? Are your thoughts and words positive or negative?

Your marriage is like a garden. You have to spend time tilling the soil, planting good seeds and caring for the plants.

You can’t plant the seeds and abandon them. You have to water them, mulch them, protect them from pests and ensure they are secure and fortified.

Plant the seeds
Your thoughts and words will determine the type of seeds you plant in your marriage.

If you think and speak negativity into your marriage you will reap negativity.

If you think and speak wisely about your marriage you will reap the fruits of positivity.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.(Galatians 6:7)

Water the plants
Criticisms, complaints, nagging and tension may point to thoughts and words that create negativity in your marriage.

On the other hand compliments, affirmation, appreciation and satisfaction may result from positive thoughts and words spoken over a marriage.

Compliment instead of criticize, make requests instead of complaining and show appreciation instead of nagging. Using positive thoughts and words in a marriage is like watering plants in a garden.

Take the pledge
Pledge to follow the counsel of Psalm 49:3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

Be understanding and speak wisely. Intentionally replace negativity in your marriage with positive words and thoughts.
