Empowering Godly Wives A Powerful Prayer For Him

Hello, godly wives!

I’m stopping by today to share a prayer with you. There’s no such thing as too much prayer. In fact sharing is caring, so this is my way of showing that I care for all of you here on Empowering Godly Wives.

This is a powerful prayer that you may say for your husband, son, brother, nephew, father, or any other male in your life. It’s an awesome bedtime prayer, and it may even be used for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, or Father’s Day. Marriage blessings, spiritual growth, love, protection, good friendships, and leadership are some of the requests in this prayer.

Before jumping into the prayer, let’s look at a few tips to consider when praying for your husband and the men in your life.

How to pray for your husband or the men in your life?

While you pray for your husband or the men in your life, don’t be afraid to mention names and roles. Also, pray in faith while using scripture and Bible promises as you make your requests known unto God.

Mention his name in your prayers

When praying for your husband or the men in your life, don’t hesitate to call their names. Instead of saying “Lord be with him,” you could say “Lord be with Henry.” When Jesus was at the tomb, instead of saying ‘come forth,’ He called Lazarus by name.

Pray over his role

As an empowered wife or woman, you should enter the throne of grace boldly as you lift up the names of those you are praying for. When you pray for the man in your life, specifically mention the roles and relationships that he has. Be specific as you lift him up as a husband, father, provider, student, driver, partner, or any other role worth mentioning.

Pray using the word of God

The word of God is not just powerful; it’s also filled with promises that you may claim while you pray. Promises for strength, protection, guidance, reconciliation, love, joy, peace, and power may be used as you petition the throne of grace.

Second Peter three verse nine tells us that the Lord is not slack concerning his promises. This means you can take Him at His word as you pray for your spouse or the other males in your family.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 KJV)

Pray in faith

Talking to God is not just about exchanging a few sentences here and there. This is because prayer requires faith, and as empowered women, we have to exercise faith and believe that the Lord will reward those who diligently seek Him.

Praying in faith means that you will place the impossible things in the hands of the Lord and believe that He will do the impossible because nothing is too hard for Him.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)

A Prayer For Your Husband or The Men In Your Life

This prayer was written to be said in the presence of the person you are praying for. If the person is not in your presence, switch out the pronouns and say the person’s name while you pray.

Let us pray!

I pray that the Lord will bless and fortify you and your marriage.

May you fix your gaze upon the man Christ Jesus, submit to His will for your life, take up the mantle of being the priest in your marriage, and be willing daily to die to self, sacrifice all for your wife, and lavish her with love.

May you find the love that endures all things, hopes for all things, and covers all sins. And when you do find this love, may you treasure it, water it, nourish it, and, most importantly, share it.

May you reflect on the words of the song, “It’s just like a magic penny.” As you live each day, give love to your spouse so that she, in return, will have no other option than to love you.

May you never listen to the whisper of the enemy that tells you to hide, withdraw, or withhold your love for your wife. As the song says, “Hold it tight and you won’t have any.” May your pocket never run low on love, and may you keep sharing and spending it on your marriage so that you will be blessed enough to see the returns on your investment. May you love unwaveringly, be respectful, and put aside petty behavior and speech.

May you be the leader that the Lord has called you to be. I pray you will plan, set SMART goals, have dreams and visions, and be blessed enough to receive the desires of your heart from the Almighty.

May you fix your gaze steadfastly on Christ and not become distracted by evildoers, covetous bystanders, and those who befriend you while plotting your destruction. Let not their evil counsel persuade you, let not their malignant ideologies consume you, and let not anything or anyone of them come near you.

I declare that ‘a thousand shall fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand,’ but they shall not overtake you. I declare and decree that they will dash their feet against the wall, and they will be caught in the very snares they set to trap you. May they be confused in the mighty name of Jesus. I declare and decree the blood of Jesus to cover you. I declare and decree that the plans of the enemy be demolished at this very moment.

May no weapon formed against your marriage prosper. May every tongue that rises against your marriage with false witness be utterly destroyed.

I pray that the work of your hands be blessed. I pray that you’ll never put work or the love of money before God. I pray that your priorities will be pleasing to God. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. May you think about the things that are good, just, pure, noble, and of good report. May you eat, drink, and do the things you do only for the glory of the Lord.

May your life be a testimony and witness to the love of Christ. May you be an ambassador for Christ in your marriage, family relationship, and work life. May you align yourself with individuals who value righteousness, love mercy, do justly, walk humbly with God, and value the family and marriage as Edenic gifts.

May you, in the mighty name of Jesus, disassociate yourself from anyone who does not acknowledge the power of God, accept Christ as their Savior, value their marriage, or love their wife and family unconditionally.

I pray that your soul may prosper, that peace will be yours, and that you will not lean on your finite understanding but trust solely in the Lord God Almighty.

May you feel love when you get to the gates of your dwelling place. May peace surround you when your feet get home. May unity thrive in your place of abode as you value each moment spent with your wife and child. May you not allow distractions of any sort to rob you of the time you should spend bonding as a spouse and father. May your bed be an undefiled place of solace, passion, peace, and intimacy.

May the veil covering your eyes be removed, and may you see with clarity the love that is bestowed upon you by your wife and family.

I pray that you will let no man deceive you, that you will study to show yourself approved to God, and that you’ll be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove for yourself the pleasing and perfect will of God.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! In the holy name of the Spirit of God, who is my Comforter, Guide, and Truth! In the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, I humbly submit this prayer.

Hear my cry, oh Lord, incline your ears to my humble requests, and grant me your peace.

Amen and amen.

Final Thought

I hope that this powerful prayer for the men in your life will bring marriage blessings, spiritual growth, love, protection, healthy friendships, and good leadership qualities. Keep praying as you trust in the Lord to inspire, empower, and transform you and your family.
