Today’s chapter: Psalms 37

Today’s verse: Psalms 37:4

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

What is it that you desire the most? Instead of chosing material things Salmon desired an understanding heart. God granted Salmon’s desire and also blessed him abundantly.

Do you desire happiness, a closer walk with God or an abundance of peace? Put your Trust in God and He will grant the desires of your heart.

And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them…because they trust in him.(Psalms 37:40)

Psalms 37 is full of promises. God will grant the desires of your heart once they are aligned with His plans for your life. Claim these promises over your life and put your trust in Him.

Promise for Peace Psalms 37: 11, 37

I claim your peace over my life, over my spouse and over my children. Dispell the forces of animosity, dissention and disunity and let peace reign in our lives.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Promise for Satisfaction/provision Psalms 37: 19, 25

Father help me to always be satisfied with that which you have blessed me with however great or small. In drought You are my ever-flowing fountain. In famine my supply of food will not dwindle. My flow of oil will not cease and my bread will be sure.

19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Promise for Direction Psalms 37: 23, 24

Order my steps Holy Father. May I walk in your path all the days of my life. Make the crooked path be straight, be the light onto my feet and give me strength to endure. May I never grow weary of following the path you have carved out for my life.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Promise for Blessings Psalms 37: 26

May blessings overflow in my life. May all that I put my hands to be a blessing to me and to others. Dispell the forces of evil, shatter the plans that were meant to harm me so that those who plot against me will come to realize that I’m a blessed and highly favoured child of the Almighty, Most Holy God.

26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

Promise for wisdom Psalm 37: 30

May wisdom be mine. May I discern evil even when it’s wrapped in a good looking package. Help me to make wise decisions in all matters of life.

30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

Promise for Strength Psalms 47: 39

May I never grow weary in well doing. May I never get faint following your path. May I walk and not be weary may I run and not get tired. Mount me up on eagles wing. You are my source of strength.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

Delight yourself in the Lord, claim His promises and He will give you the desires of your heart.
