Don't Put Off Church for Next Week

Have you been putting off church for next week? Have you been rescheduling, postponing, and taking a raincheck when it comes to corporate worship?

What would your life be like if you had to reschedule every gas station stop, grocery shopping trip, or hairdressing appointment? How long could you survive if your employer kept postponing your paycheck? What if your electricity provider kept you on a waiting list? Disappointment, frustration, and even anger are some of the emotions you would feel.

Disappointment is not enough to express how the Lord feels when you constantly postpone going to church. He looks forward to His weekly appointment with you because He wants you to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise… (Psalm 100:4 NIV)

You have fifty-two scheduled weekly appointments with the Lord. Starting this week, make a commitment that you will attend church every single week.

Prayer

Prayer About Putting Off Church Until Next Week

Lord, I want to stop putting off church each week. I want to demonstrate my love for you by faithfully attending corporate worship. Help me to think about going to church like a special appointment that I can’t afford to miss.

Jehovah, help me to enter your gates with thanksgiving and into your courts with praise each week. Help me not to disappoint You, but to grow closer to You. Forgive me for the weeks that I took a raincheck instead of going to church. Thank you for your love and mercy. Thank You for scheduling a weekly appointment with me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
