Today’s chapter: Psalm 63
Today’s verse: Psalm 63:3
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Have you ever been taken aback by kindness shown to you by a complete stranger?
Your actions and attitude before you met this person have nothing to do with how this stranger treated you. You may even feel that you don’t deserve such kindness and feel compelled to repay…or pay it forward.
This is exactly how David felt. He knew that God was merciful, loving and kind and in an attempt to repay Him he ascribed praise to Him.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
God serves out acts of kindness towards us that we do very little to deserve. Had it not been for His unconditional love and tender mercy we would probably be in a world of hurt. A world void of love, kindness, and mercy.
Very often we act and do things to fall out of favour with God, but still He shows us mercy and extends His loving kindness. This is why praise should continually be on our lips.
…my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips (Psalms 63:5)
Set aside some special time to praise God for the loving kindness and tender mercies that He extends.
