Today’s chapter: Psalms 35

Today’s verse: Psalms 35:28

And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

There were two sets of people who David mentioned in Psalms 35. Those who were against him and those who were with him.

Things were not perfect for David. Not all the people who he wished well and showed support returned this favour to him. (Psalms 35:12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.)

The same may be true for you as well. You may feel betrayed by those you unconditionally love and support. You may realize that some people are only around you when they have the most to benefit. When you need them the most they are nowhere to be found.

There was one constant in David’s life that kept him going- God.

God was there through thick and thin. When friends betrayed David he depended on God to see him through tough times. When true friends supported him he asked God to show them favour.

Make God the constant in your life.

At the end of Psalms chapter 35 David maintained his ‘never ending praise’.

David prayed through the tough times and praised through the good times.

Are you enjoying good times? Give God never ending praise. “And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.”

Are you experiencing bad times. Pray continually like David.

Psalms 35 verse 2, take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Verse 22 This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. Verse 23, Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

In these verses David asked God for help, he asked God to be near to him and he asked God to attend to his cause.

Choose God as a constant in your life. He will help you, He will always be with you and He will attend to your cause.

With God’s constant help and presence in your life you will have a hard time not giving Him ‘never ending praise’.
